CEO OTESI

Maria Eugenia Gutierrez

Mª Eugenia Gutiérrez, although everyone calls her “Geni,” was born in Madrid in April 1966 as the youngest of five siblings. She completed her studies in EGB and obtained a First and Second Degree in Administration from Vocational Training.

While finishing her second-degree studies, she started working at the security company Brink’s Mat, in the foreign currency counting department, where she was responsible for counting, detecting counterfeit bills, and auditing foreign shipments from August 1985 to September 1987.

She has been involved with OTESI since its inception in August 1985, but she officially joined the company in October 1987. At OTESI, she started working in the services department, handling data processing to generate financial reports while training in banking operations, programming, and analysis. She participated in the development of financial software and customer support and advisory services. In December 2013, she became a member of the Board of Directors, where she began taking on managerial responsibilities while remaining actively involved in the software department.

In September 2018, she was appointed President of the company.

Since July 2023, OTESI has become part of the BSG business group, which acquired 100% of its shares. At this point, she was named CEO of the company and became the direct link with the business group to which OTESI now belongs, once again adapting to this new reality.

Beyond her professional activities, in her free time, she has dedicated herself to:

  • Serving as a board member of the Rugby XV Hortaleza Club for 10 years, starting in 2001. She was responsible for the creation and coordination of the rugby school from the 2002-2003 season, beginning with 9 registered players, to the 2011-2012 season, ending with 420 registered players and overseeing the management of municipal facilities, including the Rugby Field at Phase III of Juan Pablo II Park in the Hortaleza District. She is currently a member and supporter.
  • Enjoying nature and hiking—whenever possible, she escapes to climb a peak with good friends.
